The most important component in the production of leather gloves is the selection of the material. This selection listens very close and only based upon this correct selection, good quality products can be produced. The most attention and care is put into the selection process. (This includes the thickness – and smoothness of the leather.) Laimböck gloves are manufactured from a wide range of different kinds of leather, such as nappa, suede, sheepskin, deerskin and nubuck. African nappa.
This is the best quality nappa and is made out of skins from young lambs. This skins always originate from Ethiopia or Namibia. Because of the perfect circumstances, this leather is such a high quality. Tanning still takes place in Europe.
Nappa.
Nappa can be different kinds of animals, for example goat, sheep, cow, pig, but also the so-called hair sheep (a cross breeding of a goat and a sheep). This different kind of animals are suitable for the production of gloves. The most important origins of this leather are: Indonesia, Pakistan, India and China.
Suede.
Suede as well as nappa, can be made from different types of animals such as goat, pig or cow. The most important difference with Nappa is that the inner side (connected to the flesh) is used. The most important origins are also Indonesia, India, Pakistan and China.
Texel sheepskin.

This high quality skins are very small and limited and therefore extremely exclusive.
Sheepskin.
Sheepskin is made out of the skins of adult sheep. The origin of these skins is mostly Spain and Portugal, but also Australia and New Zealand. The production of the sheepskin is the same as that of the Texel sheepskin.
